Welcome to the Cycle Cuba 2009 webblog.
This will be used to allow the three amigos to write about their experiences and training exploits for the next 6 months leading up to the Big Trip.
The Henry Barnfield Fund was set up in 2006 to raise funds and awareness for the research into finding a cure for paediatric brain tumours. In 2005 our son, Henry barnfield, died of a DIPG (Diffused Intrisic Pontine Glioma) which we were told was incurable. Our goal is to find a cure to prevent others from suffering as we have done.
In November 2009, Alastair Barnfield, Iain Barnfield and David Tipple will cycle 380Km around the beaches and mountains of Cuba to raise money for this charity. Please help us by sponsoring/donating to our fund as www.JustGiving.com/CubaUK or see the main website at http://www.lovefromhenry.com for more information and details.
All comments will be reviewed prior to publishing. We will NOT publish anything that is obviously Spam, phishing, derogatory, libellous, rude or plain silly. This site is so our followers can watch the struggle of training and preperation, along with some photos and then, technology allowing, the 5 days cycling day by day.
Thanks for looking and visit often.
Hi Guys,
We’ve just come back from a cycle tour of Cuba! We were on road the whole time, travelling independtly and carrying all our gear (we didn’t take much). We went from Havana to Santiago then on to Baracoa. We had a great time, it’s an amazing and beautiful country.
Good luck with your trip and please get in touch if you want to ask us anything before you go. We’d happily go on for hours talking about our experiences.
We will happily sponsor you too.
Keith (& jo)
